What are polynucleotides?

A mixture of genetic material derived from fish tissue. These fragments of DNA can â€‹act to improve skin quality by increasing collagen production but also have antioxidant properties and mop up damaging free radicals.

This makes it an excellent choice for sun damaged skin or for ageing prevention.

Who is suitable for treatment?

Essentially, anyone who wants to improve their skin quality and use a product that works as an  ageing preventative.

It an be used for the whole face or for rejuvenation of the undereye.

How is it done?

Injections are given to multiple points using a tiny needle. Small lumps will be left which resolve over 1-2 hours.

When first having treatment, it is recommended to have 2-3 rounds of injections spaced 2-3 weeks apart to get the best effects. You can then move to 4-6 monthly maintenance treatments.

The final effect of treatment often takes 3-4 months to fully develop so this is worth bearing in mind.

Are there any risks?

All medical injection-based procedures carry risks.

Most of these are simple and self-resolving such as bleeding, bruising, swelling.

There is a risk of infection but we reduce this by cleansing the skin pre-procedure.

Some individuals experience redness and discomfort for 12 hours post-injection. This does settle with time.
