Skin booster procedure

What are skin boosters?

A mixture of low density hyaluronic acid and amino acids injected into the outer dermis of the skin. This aids with skin hydration and causes stimulation of collagen and elastin, key skin components.

This acts to improve skin quality and reduce fine lines/wrinkles in the face. It can improve volume but is used less for this purpose.

Examples include Sunekos, Teoxane Redensity I and Fillmed NCTF-135 HA. Each is recommended for different purposes.

Who is suitable for treatment?

Anyone who wants to improve their skin quality and volume.

Particular areas for treatment and recommended product:

  • Undereye - Sunekos or NCTF-135

  • Acne Scars - Redensity I

  • Facial Skin Quality - Sunekos, NCTF-135 or Redensity I

  • Hands - NCTF-135 HA

  • Neck - Sunekos or Redensity I

How is it done?

Multiple injections are administered to specific points on on the face or the desired treatment area. Small lumps may be left which resolve over 20-30 minutes.

When first having treatment, it is recommended to have three rounds of injections a 2-4 weeks apart to get the best effects. You can then move to 4-6 monthly maintenance treatments.

Are there any risks?

All medical injection-based procedures carry risks.

Most of these are simple and self-resolving such as bleeding, bruising, swelling.

There is a risk of infection but we reduce this by cleansing the skin pre-procedure. There is a risk of allergy with any medical injectable treatment.
